In 1990 following a corporate career in the City, Gill established her own independent HR Consultancy offering pragmatic advice - within the law but without the legal jargon - to assist businesses in dealing with their people/employment issues. She has operated in diverse organisations in the public/private and not for profit sectors. Her clients have ranged from individuals, one person businesses, professional practices and small entrepreneurs to PLCs to the Civil Service, Local Government, Housing Associations and a wide range of charities and voluntary organisations. .
An HR Generalist, Gill's wide business experience covers both practical and strategic aspects of Human Resources involving change management and organisational issues. She advises on disciplinary matters and dismissals and is available to mediate in disputes or as an independent professional to hear disciplinary or grievance appeals. Whenever possible, her aim is to prevent problems developing to avoid the need for remedial action at a later date. An innate problem solver, Gill undertakes ad hoc projects as required and can be appointed as an independent investigator e.g. dealing with cases of bullying, harassment and sexual harassment.
Gill's other specialisation is offering wise counsel as a Business Coach and Mentor. She has extensive experience in Career Coaching and development and is also an accomplished facilitator. Her greatest satisfaction comes from helping individuals achieve their full potential and helping clients solve their ‘people problems’ in the most time and cost effective manner.
She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; a Fellow of the Institute of Consultancy (previously Institute of Management Consultancy) and Certified Management Consultant, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Training & Occupational Learning. Gill is subject to the Ethical Guidelines of all of these professional bodies and King Associates is registered under the Data Protection Act to handle sensitive and personal employee data.
