  • Mentoring Chief Executives and Managing Directors on the people aspects of particular organisational or strategy issues. Utilising breadth of HR experience to assist clients whilst maintaining complete confidentiality and respecting privileged position of trust.
  • Providing HR outsourcing services to clients where no dedicated HR/Personnel function exists. Writing or revising contracts of employment and staff handbooks; introducing or reviewing systems for HR Admin; advising on redundancy exercises; drafting HR policies; providing advice for solving grievance, disciplinary and dismissal issues and answering everyday employment law queries.
  • Acting as Independent Investigator into cases of alleged sexual harassment/bullying & harassment and other investigations where independent input was required to ensure impartiality.
  • Bringing about organisational change in a variety of organisations - not for profit sector, professional membership organisation and housing associations. As appropriate, working with Chief Executives, Directors, Boards of Trustees and elected voluntary committees.
  • Assisting clients with TUPE tranfers iincluding consultation and due diligence and drafting communications for staff.
  • Drafting sensitive and other correspondence as required including warning and dismissal letters.
  • When undertaking 'one-to-one' career or business coaching with Senior Executives, quickly establishing their trust and confidence.
  • Undertaking in-depth surveys involving questionnaire design, interviewing respondents, analysing results and addressing issues raised with clients. Topics covered have included ‘What do you want from the Personnel function?’ ‘How do you want to be managed?’ and a Sickness/Absence Project.
  • Supplementing the resources of overstretched HR departments by undertaking specific, unsupervised projects such as working through a pensions backlog for a major American bank; carrying out detailed redundancy calculations and drafting all documentation needed for staff.

  • Carrying out Audit of a Personnel function whilst being retained in an Interim Management capacity. Subsequently reorganising department to be more internally customer focused and introducing improved HR policies and procedures in line with best practice. Managed team of three staff.
